6:34 p.m.: No one under par at the Masters

April
7

This thanks to Stuart Appleby’s adventures on the 17th hole.

I’m actually surprised they held out as long as they did.

Meanwhile, I watched Tiger Woods play 18 from the viewing stand overlooking the green. This is one of the great perches in all of sports—except for today, when the wind whipped through so hard, I feared being carried off in a gust, never to be heard from again…

sam, what’s your prediction for tomorrow, keeping in mind that tiger has never come from behind to win a major??

    keep up the great work

It sure looks like it’s setting up for a Tiger win. It’s been since 1990 since someone outside of the last group has won at Augusta and you know who is in the last group.

The way this one is going though, this could be the year where someone makes a Sunday charge. Better yet a Sunday stays where he started and ends up watching everyone else drop shots.

Tiger wins. I look at the not-coming-from-behind angle as just a statistical oddity, in large part because he’s just managed to grab the lead by the end of the third round. Tiger by two. Appleby folds. Mark it down (so when I’m wrong, you can wave it in my face).
