Mickelson savors the Par 3 contest; Woods thinks it’s a waste of time

April
8

As if we needed any more proof that Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have about as much in common as Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell, there was both players reflecting on the annual Par 3 contest today.

Basically, Phil thinks of it as a precious opportunity to spend time with his family while Tiger thinks he could better be preparing for the tournament by doing one-armed push-ups on a bed of nails.

First, there’s Phil:

“Guys really have fun on the on the nine holes and someone like myself who has little children who caddie, we as parents look back on those pictures and those memories and sharing that time together as some of the greatest time we have had together in the game.”

Then there’s Tiger:

“Used to be, I thought it was a lot of fun, but now it’s a little bit distracting to get ready and be ready for the tournament.”

I tell you, sometimes it’s like they’re the same person….
