Frustration abounds

April
12

The most frustrated man at Augusta National right now might be Tiger Woods, who may no longer be on speaking terms with his putter after missing birdie putts on each of the last six holes.

Or it might be the guy I saw following Woods on the front nine, who raced down a hill after Woods holed out on 4, caught a slick patch of grass and ended up spread eagled on his back. The guy was caked in mud, and justifiably mortified.

Of course, the mature father of two in me quickly asked if he was OK. Then I walked away, and the part of me that’s still permanently stuck in middle school immediately started cracking up.

Sam – you don’t even get any comments on this blog? I recognize the Masters is a great event (although I personally prefer the US Open), but PLEASE come back to the Rangers beat and to the blog…we miss you terribly!

A sports reporter at The Journal News for nearly three years, Alex Myers has covered a bit of everything, but a lot of golf, ranging from the high school level to last year's U.S. Open at Winged Foot. His golf writing goes back to his college days when he attended Wake Forest University. Myers is also an avid player who is constantly trying to improve on his current handicap of 8. Perhaps his biggest thrill came earlier this summer when he conquered the famed 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass by hitting a 9-iron onto the island green and walking away with a 2-putt par.
