Athletes of the Season Podcast

July
3

Greetings all,

I’m back from a golf trip to Kiawah Island in South Carolina and only one word can describe the famed Ocean Course: Unbelievable.

Anyway, before I left, fellow Team Journal News member Josh Thomson and I taped a podcast discussing the possible TJN Athlete of the Season candidates in both Westchester/Putnam and Rockland. No, we didn’t announce who is winning (you’ll have to wait to see the special section of the paper, which will come out July 11), but we do give a thorough rundown of the possibilities and the process behind the selection.

Here’s the link. Enjoy: Download:

  1. terrible 2nd round

Hey Guys. I have a great idea besides doing the player of the year how about if you have a freshman of the year, Sophmore of the year, Junior of the year, and Senior of the year. And maybe a middle schooler of the year for golf. (ex. Mike Miller sophmore of the year, Mark Mumford, junior of the year)

His golf writing goes back to his college days when he attended Wake Forest University. Myers is also an avid player who is constantly trying to improve on his current handicap of 8. Perhaps his biggest thrill came earlier this summer when he conquered the famed 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass by hitting a 9-iron onto the island green and walking away with a 2-putt par.
