Andrew Svoboda not only made the weekend, he kept on climbing the leaderboard at the Rex Hospital Open, closing 65-69 at TPC Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, N.C. to finish in a 14th-place tie.

The Mamaroneck native got in via Monday qualifier.

Svoboda was 11-under for the event, his first this season on the Nationwide Tour. He rolled in 14 birdies yesterday and today.

Mike thanks for your notes on Andrew Svoboda! He works with us at Old Oaks Country Club in Purchase and we are thrilled with his performance over the weekend. The entire club was following his progress on the internet this weekend shot by shot. We were running scores out to the members throughout his play! Andy has been working very hard on his game and it is paying off for him. We look forward to the upcoming qualifying rounds for the US Open in two weeks and look forward to Andy’s next start on the Nationwide Tour. Please continue to follow his progress in the coming weeks. Best always, Steve Jenney, outside operations mgr. Old Oaks Country Club.
