Scott Miller, who plays out of Mansion Ridge, was the medalist yesterday at the first of five qualifying stops for the 63rd MGA/MetLife Public Links Championship. He shot a 3-under par 69 at Blue Hill Golf Course in Pearl River.
The championship is open to male amateur golfers in the MGA district with a USGA handicap of 8.0 or less and no playing privileges at a course where the general public is excluded. The top 11 players plus ties from the field of 79 advanced to the July 8 final Spook Rock.
