Frank Bensel shot a 3-under 69 and slept on the lead heading into the final round of the 34th Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship. The White Plains native has a one-shot lead over Adam Rainaud of South Hadley, Mass. with a 208 total.
The Century assistant had eight birdies in the third round on the Wanamaker Course at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
“I hit some great shots, and hit some errant shots, as my scorecard indicates,” Bensel said. “I
made a whole lot of both. But I take only positives from the round today. … I have to go out and play offense tomorrow, and limit my mistakes.”
