I don’t usually put these kinds of notices on the blog, but the folks at Kiawah Island Golf Resort have come up with a pretty clever promotion.
They are setting up The Ocean Course as it’s expected to play during the PGA Championship in 2012, and giving anybody willing to drop more than a couple of bucks to visit a chance to see what they can do. Golfers will get to play the same green speeds, the same rough length and the same tees between Aug. 1-7.
Can you handle 7,606 yards?
“It’s the dream of serious golfers everywhere, whether a scratch or a 30-plus handicap to play one of the world’s great courses in the same conditions as the professionals play it in a major championship,” said Brian Gerard, Kiawah’s Director of golf.
There is a low-net competition for players that provide a certified USGA handicap and use a caddie to verify their scores. For information on the PGA Challenge and golf packages, click here.
