Three more players who are part of history at Westchester Country Club are coming back to play in the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship. Bob Gilder, David Frost and Bob Tway committed last week and are expected to be in the field August 17-21.
It’s the final Champions Tour major of the season.
Gilder can visit the plaque in the 18th fairway that marks his double-eagle that played a big part in his 1982 win here.
“It’s a tough course because of the ups and downs and you get some different lies,” he said. “I enjoy playing there and look forward to going back.”
Tway won here in 1986.
“I remember the year I won there, you just had to do everything very, very well,” he said. “I’m excited about going back because I’ve always loved playing there.”
Frost grabbed his fifth PGA TOUR win at Westchester in 1992, winning by eight shots.
Jay Haas, Hale Irwin, Tom Kite, Loren Roberts, Scott Simpson, Bobby Wadkins and D.A. Weibring have already committed to join defending champion Mark O’Meara.
