Chris Scialo took advantage of an opportunity to qualify for the Met Open Championship on his home course yesterday, shooting a 2-under 68 and grabbing medalist honors at Paramount Country Club. He surged in front with a birdie at No. 16 and an eagle at No. 17.
Younger brother, Stephen, also got into the field with a 2-over 72.
A total of 14 players earned an invitation to the 96th Met Open Championship on Aug. 23-25 at Sleepy Hollow Country Club, including Rotella head pro Michael Laudien, Knollwood amateur Mike Miller, Wykagyl head pro Ben Hoffhine and Siwanoy amateur Ian Palfrey.
