From our high school golf writer Mike Zacchio … the list of individuals that qualified for Round 1 of the Section 1 Championship at Mahopac Golf Club on Tuesday. Only 30 golfers will play at Sleepy Hollow in the final round the following day. The defending champion is Sean Trainor of White Plains.
The scholastic players will also be competing for nine spots in the NYSPHSAA tournament at Cornell University on June 2. Nicole Morales, who competes for John Jay, is eligible to play, but is not entering because of a conflict with a major AJGA event in Arizona.
