Jonathan Renza breezed into the quarterfinals of the Westchester Golf Association’s 95th Amateur Championship at Westchester Country Club, dispatching Eugene Oh 8 and 7 in the morning and Michael Karger 7 and 5 in the afternoon. The 22-year-old won this event in 2010. Defending champion Colin McDade also survived the first day of competition, knocking out Brian Krex 3 and 2 and Patrick Pierson 3 and 1. The quarterfinals will be played Wednesday morning, with the semifinals getting under way following lunch.
