Cameron Young went into the Round of 64 at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship as the No. 7 seed after playing well the first two days at The Club at Carlton Woods in Texas, but was immediately upset.
The 17-year-old from Scarborough fell behind early and lost 2 and 1 to Will Dickson of Providence, Rhode Island. He was 3-down before winning the 10th and 11th holes to make things interesting. The Fordham Prep senior then lost three straight, leaving the match dormie, but rallied to win the 15th and 16th holes. Dickson, who is a sophomore in high school, closed out the match with a par.
